We’re Basildon Mind and we are here for you
Our aim is to help people in our local communities to have better mental health and wellbeing and to live the best lives possible. We do this by providing a range of services to meet local needs.
We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. When you have a mental health problem you’re still you. That’s why we do all we can to help people living with a mental health problem get on with their lives, no matter how mental health affects them.
We listen, give you support and advice and make sure that everyone who experiences difficulties with their mental health gets the respect and support they need, to stay well.
Basildon Mind is a local independent mental health charity (Registered Charity Number 1107896) affiliated to the national charity Mind. Nationally, Mind campaigns to improve services and raises awareness. We work in partnership with them and other local Minds to make sure everyone gets the help they need.
There are 104 local Minds across England and Wales, we are not funded by Mind nationally, we all have to raise our own money to run our services, and we each have our own board of trustees who are responsible for how we are run.
We work in partnership with Basildon Council, Essex County Council, EPUT (Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation) Basildon & Brentwood Clinical Commissioning Group, NHS providers, local Minds in Essex, other local voluntary, community groups and faith groups.
Basildon Mind provides a range of services together with information and advice on mental health, we have been supporting people with mental health problems to be empowered to gain a better quality of life.
We want Basildon to be the best place for talking about and taking care of mental health.
